Anthea Taeuber
Anthea is a passionate trauma-informed yoga teacher, freediving instructor, and Mind Body Medicine practitioner based in Brooklyn. With over 800 hours of specialized yoga teacher training, her offerings include vinyasa, yin, Acroyoga, meditation, and breathwork. In March 2023 she founded Mora Yoga, the first trauma-informed yoga studio in Brooklyn NY, where she blends yoga, freediving, journaling, and mind-body medicine into a holistic practice for wellbeing. On this trip she’ll nourish the group through beautiful cooking and gentle acupressure support.

Kike
Kike is the founder and owner of Seanergy, a diving/expedition center in La Paz. He's been guiding seafaris for over a decade, and he and Anthea have been working together for 4 years. He brings his wonderful spirit and deep knowledge of the ocean to every day at sea — sharing about the ocean life we encounter and keeping everyone safe in the water. Also makes the best cup of coffee in Baja.

This Experience is For You If
You love the ocean
We’ll spend long days in and around the water — floating, snorkeling, diving, taking photos, and letting the Sea of Cortez set the pace.
You’re curious about freediving
You do not need to be experienced. Beginners will have time to learn theory and practice on the line; certified divers can refine what they know and explore Baja underwater.
You enjoy yoga and breathwork
Daily yoga and breathwork support the freediving, help your body open, and give your nervous system time to soften. All levels are welcome.
You’re seeking connection
Acroyoga, contact improv, rooftop hangs, boat days, and beach bonfires under the stars create a warm, playful group container.
You value balance
The week moves between ocean adventure, skill-building, nourishing meals, restorative practices, and quiet integration time.
You like being adventurous — and safe
Every ocean day includes briefings, diving buddies, space for questions, and a guide team focused on comfort, safety, and fun.
FAQs
Do I need to know how to freedive?
No. Being comfortable swimming is a great place to start. We’ll send prep videos for equalization and breath-hold practice, and you’ll learn what you need during the discovery course / line-training sessions.
What if I’m afraid of the ocean?
We’ve been there too, which is why this trip is designed as a gentle ease into the ocean. We prioritize safety, consent, and nervous-system support, and we’ll help you work through any anxieties that come up.
Is the ocean dangerous?
We can’t control or predict the ocean, but the Sea of Cortez around La Ventana and La Paz is a beautiful, relatively gentle place to explore. We use briefings, buddy systems, local guides, and conservative decision-making every day.
What if I have dietary preferences?
We’ll collect dietary needs before the trip and do our best to offer fulfilling, healthy options for different eating styles. Please tell us about allergies or restrictions as early as possible.
What’s the weather like?
Expect warm Baja weather: air temperatures often in the high 80s to low 90s, with water temperatures generally in the 80s. There may be a few windy windows, but this season is usually sunny, warm, and calm.
Where do I fly in?
Fly into La Paz (LAP) if you can — it’s about a 45-minute drive. Los Cabos (SJD) also works and is about a 2.5-hour drive. We’ll help coordinate ride shares in the WhatsApp group after booking.
Is transportation included?
Airport transportation is not included, but we’ll help coordinate shared rides from LAP or SJD so everyone has a clear plan.
Do I need my own freediving gear?
You’re welcome to bring your own gear if you have it. Rentals are available for about $15/day without a wetsuit or $20/day with a wetsuit.
